It's Lights Out

& Away We Go

LAVA BRO isn't just an emotional support company; we're your hype squad, vibing like a winning sports team or backing each other up like siblings. In this weekly newsletter, together, we celebrate small wins . We blend the excitement of sports highlights with strategies to tackle those existential crises that pop up in our everyday lives. Share with your family & friends.

K8 & GINK

The sisters known as the Internet! 👯‍♀️

K8 and I are all about seizing the moment and going on epic adventures together, whether it's with family, friends, or just the two of us! Whenever I make the trip to NJ to visit, it's always a full-on spoil session for 🧬, with bagels, Starbies, sandwiches, and lots of cuddles.

One of our favorite traditions is what we call a "sister day." We usually kick it off by hitting up the Harry Potter store for some Butterbeer, stopping at Rolf’s to reminisce about and appreciate 🦷, and sometimes meet up with friends. And let's not forget about treating ourselves to spa appointments because, hey, why not live it up?

But it's not all about tradition—we're all about trying new things too. For instance, we once hit up The Plaza bar to sip on Mint Juleps just like F. Scott Fitzgerald did while penning The Great Gatsby. Whether it's hitting up new bars and restaurants or getting our mini golf game on indoors or driving balls at Chelsea Piers, we're always down for an adventure.

Every “sister day” ends with smoked whiskeys and pizza. Before we embark on the train ride home to chill on her green couch in the common room, we love capping off our day with good vibes, good food, and a good movie.

SMALL WINS

Let’s dive into the *~magic~*!

In a world that's all about the big moments, it's time to give props to the small wins—like finally nailing that thing you put off & it only taking 5 minutes, catching a breather mid-chaos or hustling through a workout when you'd rather binge, Harry Potter. They might not make an impact, but these wins? They're the rizz to leveling up. So, let’s celebrate our accomplishments and manifest for the week ahead.

  • Morgan has been journaling daily

  • T5 got a promotion

  • Maggie unpacked her suitcase in less than 24 hours upon return. She also made a killer status update/task list at work that got major kudos for being super organized

  • Chelsea’s doing water aerobics 4x a week

  • (Aunt) Deanna started Spring cleaning

  • Charles went to the gym every day

  • B got a new Jeep & named her Summer

  • Nascent released Big Brown Eyes from his upcoming album

  • Rileigh saw another Cybertruck

  • Gink won a raffle that supported her niece’s volleyball team

  • K8’s been working on some exciting projects w/ old friends

  • 🧬 cleared his workspace to start doing his taxes

To all our friends in the gym, we respect you, but here’s how Gink & I feel about it.

WOO, SPORTS!

I AM SPEED 🏆

Our “sister day” reflects the anticipation surrounding the Formula One season. Like the excitement of trying new bars, restaurants and simply being together, F1 teams anticipate the challenges and discoveries of each race. Just as K8 and I embrace adventures with enthusiasm, teams approach the season with readiness for the unknown. As we gear up for the longest F1 season ever, let's channel that same energy into embracing new opportunities and exploring uncharted territories.

The inaugural race of the 24-event F1 season kicked off in Bahrain on Saturday!

Highlights:

Every driver finished the season opener for the first time in F1 history.

Wumpus was Max Verstappen’s communication director! We 💖 bring your stuffed animal to work day.

There were some classic tech issues.

"It was impossible to drive properly. We had big problems with the brakes. Every lap I was doing I would brake three or four meters earlier, but the issue was getting much, much worse every lap."

Charles Leclerc. He finished 4th.

Navigating tech issues during work/life feels akin to F1 cars encountering mechanical problems mid-race. Just like how a glitchy Zoom call can disrupt workflow, a malfunctioning engine or gearbox can throw off a driver's performance on the track. Whether it's connectivity issues, audio mishaps, or presentation hiccups, these digital hurdles parallel the challenges faced by race teams when their high-tech machines falter. However, just as engineers work tirelessly to resolve car issues, we too can troubleshoot and adapt, ensuring we stay on course to achieve our goals. So, rev up your problem-solving skills, shift into high gear, and race past those technical difficulties like true champs!
